Art at San Miguel

We believe we have one of the best middle school art programs around. Art is a required class and our students learn, and practice, many art forms. Students study the elements of line and color in art, the principles of design and the evolution of art movements throughout history. They study contemporary artists and the art of the ancient Chinese, Egyptians and Greeks.

Students may be asked to create a work of art influenced by Frida Kahlo, Jacob Lawrence, Yayoi Kusama, Reggie Laurent, or one of the other many artists they study. The results are imaginative and inspiring!
