As part of her visit, Mass attended the weekly community meeting, at which the entire school community gathers to discuss a Lasallian virtue and recognizes weekly and monthly student award winners. She also received a student tour and interviewed students, teachers, and parents.

Vice Principal Alex Vera explained how the school’s mission is achieved. “We provide the tools needed for our students to succeed and achieve their goals of attending prestigious schools.”

Students discussed what makes San Miguel different from the other schools they have attended. Eighth grader Donovan S. contrasted his impersonal experience at a public school with the welcoming environment he appreciates about San Miguel. “The teachers know your name. They know you personally.”

Seventh grade student Carlos P. shared how he has grown in habit and virtue through his San Miguel education. “I'm learning to be humble, to have patience, and to study a lot to learn what I need to learn!”

The feature ran on Telemundo 44 on the evening of August 23 and remains accessible on the Telemundo website.
