Astounding 73% of San Miguel Students Achieve Honor Roll Following Implementation of This New Strategy

San Miguel School announced the students who achieved Honor Roll status for the first quarter of the 2023-2024 school year on Thursday, October 19.

A historic 73 percent of students earned either first or second honors - the greatest share of students to earn the honor in recent history. The administration attributes the success to a newly implemented strategy of an additional midday study hall - and of course, to the hard work of our young scholars.

The study hall change was implemented to provide students with more support to thrive in a rigorous middle school education. Though the San Miguel school day has always included a daily study hall, in years past it has only taken place at the end of the day. A midday session means that students can do homework and study for tests with access to all of their teachers.

The entire school community gathered to celebrate the honorees, and the ceremony was also broadcast live via Facebook.

Students who earned First Honors had GPAs of 3.5 or greater and had no grade below a B. Students who earned Second Honors had GPAs between 3.0 and 3.49 and had no grade below a C.
