San Miguel Celebrates 9th Annual Scholarship Benefit
The San Miguel School community came together Saturday, Feb. 20 to celebrate the school’s 9th Annual Scholarship Benefit.
This year’s event — the first ASB held virtually in school history — marked the first time that many members of the San Miguel Community were able to see inside the school in nearly a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Generous benefactors, sponsors, business partners and foundations participated in a benefit that saw remarks from San Miguel's past and present. Featured speakers included Board Chairman Edward J. Quinn, founding President Br. Tom Gerrow, founding chairman of the Board of Trustees Michael R. Jones, as well as San Miguel President Maureen Appel.
Rob Clark, author of “The Resilient Worker,” and a friend of San Miguel School, served as the MC for the live portion of the ASB Program. During the program, the San Miguel community also heard from dozens of students, a parent, faculty/staff, members of the board of trustees and were also treated to musical numbers from San Miguel student musicians.
The unprecedented virtual benefit raised more than $600,000 in contributions, including pre-event sponsorships — making it the single most successful Annual Scholarship Benefit in school history.
Plans are already underway for next year’s Annual Scholarship Benefit — the 10th ASB in school history and one that will mark San Miguel’s 20th anniversary since its founding.
