San Miguel Eighth Graders Celebrate Third Annual High School Signing Day

San Miguel School eighth graders marked the third annual High School Signing Day on May 4, announcing their academic destinations for Fall 2023.

Principal David Palank praised not only the incredible effort from the graduating class, but also the support from the community that allowed students to gain admission to some of the most prestigious high schools in the area.

“Gentlemen, be proud. This is a great day not only for eighth graders, but for San Miguel School. It’s a great celebration of everything you’ve put in for the past three years, the hard work of the teachers, the staff, and your parents, to make sure that you put yourself in a great position.” 

The graduating Class of 2023, which will celebrate Commencement on June 10, will attend schools such as: Archbishop Carroll High School, DeMatha Catholic High School, Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School, Edmund Burke School, Sidwell Friends School, St. Andrews Episcopal School, St. John’s College High School, and Washington International School. 

The signing day ceremony saw San Miguel students receive a hat or shirt (or both) representing their future schools. The group then gathered at the school’s front entrance facing Georgia Avenue for a group shot.
